Boat descriptionWindarra was built in 1979 when they used fibreglass properly, as such she is a little weighty at 32000 lbs, but has an inch thick hull, is very stable and has a surprising turn of speed. Top side she is ketch rigged with a self tacking staysail on a hoyt boom. She has undergone an extensive refit since I bought her, including new engine, modernised the electrics, water maker, solar panels and other mod cons. She has a windvane installed, along with new liferaft, new EPIRB and Sat Phone. Below decks there are four berths with good bedding, two heads including a half bath, good sized saloon and galley with microwave and breadmaker. There is a TV and music system along with an extensive movie library and board games. She has a paddle board, new dinghy and is properly set up for diving with a compressor aboard.

5Missing Windy!
I joined Olly for 2 months in Raja Ampat, had an absolute blast! Windarra is such a beauty and the area was insanely spectacular, above and underwater. Olly himself is very patient and he was very happy to explain and teach us all about sailing despite the lack of wind. Great sense of humor and didn't feel any form of hierarchy while staying on board. Would very much love to join again at some point, take care of Phillis in the meantime!!

Amazing boat and skipper
I sailed with Windarra from French polynesia to New Zealand for 5 months. The skipper is really competive and have a lot of patience. I would recommend to join Windarra and as a bonus the skipper makes killer meals :)

Great boat and skipper
"Windy!" - I joined Windarra and Olly for 7 weeks from Tonga, through the Tongatapu group, Ha'apai group and Vava'u group, and then on the passage to New Zealand. Olly was very patient and explained all the workings of the boat, and answered my many questions. Any complex manoeuvre was always talked through with the crew first, and then executed with a minimum of fuss. There was no yelling :) Olly has a great English sense of humour, but one thing he takes very seriously is looking after the safety of his crew, and then boat, and as crew, I felt very safe on board. The boat is older but heavy and well maintained, and I enjoyed not hearing the slap of thin fibreglass when it was rough (I'm usually on race boats). I learnt a lot from Windy and Olly and the other crew regards to passage making, and was such a bonus to have a dive compressor/tank/BCD to use while onboard - I had a lot of fun and it was a great adventure. Thank you Olly - look forward to sailing with you again one day.

Couldnt wish for a better skipper and ship
Olly is an honest man and is truely looking after his boat and crew. When searching for a crew position I could not have imagined to get such an amazing crewing position as I have at the Windarra. The ship is a beauty on itself. It is spacious and comfortable, all amenities you need are, its a sheer luxury to stay on this ketch. Best of all is Olly himself, he knows what he is doing and he is patient to explain everything up and around the boat. Dont mess with his bacon or tea though. Oh yeah and diving! There are on board dive tanks!! Thanks Olly for granting me this amazing time!

Amazing !!
I joined Windy in Indonesia, it was one of my first experience sailing and I think I couldn’t have find better ! Oly is a great skipper, looking after his crew and the boat, he was really nice and patient, he always answered my question and he thought me so much. I felt very safe sailing on Windarra and the food was amazing as well. I have the heart full of great memories and I think that experience was the highlight of my travels in South east Asia I highly recommend !!
