100 ton Master inland, OUPV Operator/Captain near coastal MMC license holder; seeking captain/deckhand/crew opportunity
Hi! I am an active MMC Master 100GT Inland and OUPV Operator/Captain Near Coastal license holder. I am seeking opportunities to get underway as a captain or deckhand/mate. Temporary or permanent. Motor or sail.
I have 500+ days underway and have been helping with deliveries over the past year, most recently on an Azimut 55 from Puerto Vallarta to Newport Beach with SDCaptains.
As a USCG vet (4 years active duty; Boatswain Mate) and well-educated technology profession, I left corporate life behind earlier this year with a goal of restarting the maritime career I left behind years earlier. I have relocated to Charleston, SC and I have 10-15 years to dedicate towards this new goal before I even consider retirement. A goal that isn't financially-motivated bur rather, experience-motivated.
Worth noting is that I have significant coxswain and crew experience on both motor and sail boats (sail is primarily recreational; motor is primarily professional). I'm responsible, healthy, hard working, a good listener, and I'm told a good story teller. I've travelled the world and I'm no stranger to adventure. Bring it on!
