Competent Crew looking to join a boat anywhere in SE Asia to have a good time and build nautical experience
Greetings!
I’m a Portuguese young man looking for an opportunity to join a sailing boat anywhere in Southeast Asia, ideally around the Philippines, Indonesia, or Malaysia, from March 20th onwards (flexible).
I have some sailing experience, including two multi-day passages with night sailing and watch duties, as well as many regattas on the Tejo River. I’ve completed the RYA Yachtmaster Theory course (saving the practical part for after this trip) and hold a Portuguese local skipper license. That said, I’m fully aware that sailing is a lifelong learning journey, and I’m excited to learn from you and contribute to your crew.
Beyond sailing, I’m an experienced surfer and PADI Divemaster. I’ve traveled extensively, speak fluent Portuguese, Spanish, and English, and enjoy meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. My other passions include music, climbing, hiking, chess, and nature.
With an engineering background, combined with a proactive mindset, problem-solving skills, and a passion for hands-on work, I’m confident I can be a valuable addition to your crew. I also enjoy cooking, don’t mind cleaning, and am happy to share expenses with the rest of the crew.

Best night watch mate
Andre was such a lovely presence on the boat. A gem of a person. It was so refreshing and fun to have around. He is well-travelled, well-mannered, very determined and incredible at problem-solving. We night watched once, read poetry and observed the stars. He taught me some knots and helped me cook a few times. It would be a pleasure to sail with him again! Highly recommended to anyone searching for crew!
