I am a highly skilled professional with extensive experience as a deckhand, engineer, and guide, seeking to bring my diverse skill set to a new and challenging role.
Key Highlights:
Maritime Expertise: Over 200 hours as Coxswain of twin-screw RHIBs and twin bucket jet boats, with a high level of competence operating tenders and other small craft.
Leadership Experience: Served as Station Leader in South Georgia for 2 years, managing island operations, overseeing health and safety, leading training programs, and ensuring smooth teamwork in demanding conditions.
Small Boat Operations: Extensive experience conducting operations in hostile environments, including the Southern Ocean and around Antarctica.
Sailing Proficiency: Sailed a 37ft yacht over 1,000 nautical miles in winter along Australia’s east coast, managing all route and tide planning, provisioning, and navigation.
Experience sailing square-rigger tall ships.
Experience bringing ships of up to 129m (15,000 GT) alongside.
Additional Skills:
Engineering Expertise: Trade-trained in electrical and mechanical engineering, with in-depth knowledge of engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and other systems.
Search and Rescue Training: Competent in land, ice, and sea SAR operations, including glacier travel and crevasse rescue.
Guiding Experience: Former sea kayak guide in Norway, leading multi-day tours and planning challenging routes.
Photography and Videography: Skilled in drone work and capturing high-quality photos and videos in remote environments.
Certifications and Documentation:
Seaman’s Book and STCW certification in hand.
