Looking for a position as a Competent Crew position
Hi - I've just joined Crewbay. I'm interested in finding a position as a Competent Crew. I'm looking forward to meeting some new people! I live and sail/chartered boats (30-44+ ft ) regularly on the San Francisco Bay. In late 2022, I crossed the Atlantic on a 100ft. Dutch Schooner, Twister and spend several weeks cruising the Caribbean. In January, 2024, I sailed the Andaman sea in Thailand on a Bavaria 45, and in September 2024, I sailed the Southern Pacific Ocean on SV Bark Europa from Auckland, NZ to Stanley, Falkland Islands, rounding Cape Horn on a 6,169 NM voyage. This was an extraordinary 99% non-stop sailing that earned all crew the Dutch Cape Horners Foundation certificate of achievement. I want to continue to augment my experiences at sea, explore the Pacific, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Atlantic or wherever the wind will take us. I am fascinated, curious and are continually learning more about navigation, boat systems, safety at sea, open ocean sailing, as well as marine ecology and history. I'm retired with a post graduate degree in adult and continuing education. I enjoy making international friends who care about the oceans, love nature and its challenges, share the better side of humanity, enjoy cooking, travel and cultural observation. Contact me directly.
