Watch: Sailing from Tenerife to Saint Martin
Deck/Stew
Hola!
I have always been a curious traveler and very passionate about the sea, sailing as a hobby for a while.
I am currently in Barcelona (Spanish passport holder), and I have a valid B1B2 visa and both ENG1 and STCW certifications all up-to-date.
I have some sailing experience on Laser and J80, and so far I have taken part in several sailing yacht and catamaran deliveries, even an Atlantic crossing! So I am quite used to being on the sea for a long time (no sea sickness), doing solo night shifts and being at the helm manually, with no autopilot. I also worked as a temporary Deck/Stew for a privately owned Hanse 67 sailing yacht in Croatia, where I was basically in charge of keeping the interior clean and organized and helping the skipper on deck whenever possible, so even though I haven't worked for a full season yet, I am very responsible and flexible with tasks and not lazy to get the job done.
Therefore, I am looking forward to finding a Deck/Stew position on a SY in order to practice and improve my sailing skills and to save up money to pursue further qualifications for my sailing career.
If you think I could be a good match, I am looking forward to hearing from you soon and learning more details about your boat! :)
PS: A little bit more about my brackground...
I was born in a small town 50 km from Barcelona inland, and during my childhood I used to spend every summer by the sea. When I finished my Translation & Interpreting university studies, I was really eager to discover the world, so I left home to explore China back in 2007. I was so amused feeling outside of my comfort zone discovering new cultures and speaking different languages, that I stayed in Asia for 10 years, working as an expat and traveling all around the region. There I fell in love with Southeast Asia and I developed my passion for surfing, diving, paddle surfing and sailing.
