Ahoy there, sailing enthusiasts! I'm Gary Price, and I'm on a mission to set sail and explore the high seas by joining your adventurous crew. My love for ocean cruising has been a lifelong passion, and I'm thrilled to embrace the opportunity of being a part of your sailing odyssey.
While I always had dreams of owning my own boat, I've found myself increasingly drawn to the idea of joining other people's journeys and forming meaningful connections with fellow sailors. I'm hoping to forge lasting friendships within the sailing community, learn from your wisdom, and gather insights to help me make the decision about buying my own liveaboard sailboat one day.
Boating has been a part of my life since day one, and currently, I'm the proud owner of five watercraft. My home is nestled on the serene shores of a lake in Michigan, a testament to my enduring love for the water.
Here's what I bring to your crew that might make me a valuable addition:
1. Aviation Skills: I hold an instrument rating as a pilot and proudly own a Cessna 182P. My aviation skills seamlessly transfer to sailing, allowing me to excel in navigation, wind and weather analysis, mechanical aptitude, and sound judgment.
2. Handyman Extraordinaire: I'm a handy problem-solver who can fix just about anything with the right tools, time, and parts. Whether it's electrical, plumbing, or carpentry, I'm your go-to person.
3. Endurance Athlete: I've conquered an Ironman, a 50-mile ultramarathon and a one day 204 mile gravel bike race, ensuring I'm in peak physical condition. My daily exercise and meditation routine keep my energy levels and focus at their peak.
4. Cleanliness Advocate: A clean and organized environment is essential to me, ensuring a harmonious living space on the boat.
5. Culinary Enthusiast: I enjoy cooking and exploring gastronomy, and I'm known to whip up some delectable dishes for the crew.
6. Musical and Good-Humored: I enjoy singing, can play a bit of music, and I love to laugh. My positive attitude contributes to a fun and enjoyable atmosphere.
7. Unwavering Integrity: I'm a man of my word and bring honesty and fairness to every situation, especially when it comes to finances.
Now, here's what I'm seeking in my sailing adventure:
- Spirited Crew: I'm looking to join a group of at least five like-minded individuals who lead an active lifestyle.
- Diving/Scuba/Fishing: The presence of scuba gear on board would be a significant plus for me. Otherwise free diving is a daily pleasure for me and I’d love to catch us some fresh fish with my spear.
- Warm Weather and Clear Waters: While I don't require luxury, I do prefer sailing in warm weather with clear, inviting waters.
- Private Sleeping Space: A bit of privacy in my sleeping area would be much appreciated.
- Libation Aficionado: I'm a mixologist at heart, so I'd love to enjoy some well-crafted drinks with everyone, but always in moderation. I enjoy making great NA Mocktails and smoothies as well.
- Healthy Eating Habits: Food is my medicine, and I strive to eat as healthy as possible. I have a mild gluten intolerance, so gluten-free options are preferred.
- Drama-Free, Smoke-Free, and Harmonious Vibes: These are non-negotiables for me. Drama, smoking, and offensive music are not a part of the sailing experience I'm seeking.
