Looking to slap some miles on my logbook, learn the ropes and make new friends.
I am fit, healthy, agreeable, easy-going, non-smoking, never-complaining, morale-uplifting and perpetually curious. Looking for challenging passages anywhere around Europe and the Atlantic. Will be equally eager to hop on longer passages out of sight of land, as well as do some coastal sailing. I have some experience in deliveries, ocean passages, solo night watches and celestial navigation. That being said, because I've mostly done offshore passages with prevailing winds where you do not anchor, do not do many sail changes, do not do MOB drills, and do not leave or arrive more than once, my practical knowledge of these things is limited - which is why I am looking for opportunities to practise them. What I do know is how to live on a boat that's making way - together with other people, in close quarters, for weeks on end - and enjoy it. :)
I have started sailing two years ago and have more than 8000 miles under my belt. I’m looking to increase this number in good and patient company. It goes without saying that I am ready to cook, clean, stand watches, and be an active part of anything and everything that happens on board. Will be more than willing to help with boat repairs and refitting in exchange for instructions and explanations.
