Crewmates (and Skipper) Who Helped Me Learn A Lot

I recently met and sailed with Can in Greece. We met as crewmates on someone else's boat (even though he is very much a capable skipper as well). Can is experienced, where I most certainly am not, so I really learned a lot from him (how to handle the anchor, knots, how to judge the wind, and even just how to maneuver around the boat in general). What I think is really an amazing quality about Can is that even though he is a skipper himself, he never acted like he knew better - he was there to learn, just like I was, and was able to take direction well no matter what the skipper told us to do (I don't think a lot of people are able to do this). We crewed on the boat together for a week, and it was really great - everyone got along perfectly and had lots of laughs the entire time. So in combination with Can's super easygoing personality, his boat experience, and his ability to take direction, I definitely recommend him as part of your crew (or as a skipper)! I hope to sail with Can again one day =)

Capable friendly skipper who is also happy to crew and get on with what needs doing.

I recently had the pleasure of spending a week with Can in the Ionian. We spent a week crusing around the southern islands from Preveza to Zakynthos, favouring Ithaka. It was obvious from the start that he is a capable skipper and was also refreshing that he is happy taking a back seat to crew. He knows when to give his opinion and when to simply get on with what needed doing, which isn't always the case with skippers. There were three of us on the boat from different parts of the world and we all had a great time with a lot of laughs. He is passionate about sailing and also super chill. I look forward to sailing with Can again in the future.
