Ahoy! I’m David – Your Next Crew Member! ?
Hi, I'm a novice sailor from Dallas, TX, working on building miles and offshore sailing experience.
A Bit About Me:
I grew up in Lubbock, TX. After the 9/11 terrorist attack, I joined the Army. I got into photography while I was deployed to Iraq in 2004. This is a hobby I have a true passion for and have now been shooting for over 20 years! After the military, I went to college and graduated in 2011. I’ve spent the last 14 years working in marketing, but I’m ready to transition away from the corporate world.
My Background:
• Certifications: I hold ASA 101 and 103 certifications.
• Experience: I have been sailing for three years. I own a Catalina 25 that I sail and maintain. I also crew regularly for local club events.
• In 2023, I crewed on a 4-day, 454 mile offshore passage on a Lagoon 450 from Nassau, Bahamas to Bradenton, FL, that included both day and night watches.
• Skills: I have hands-on experience rebuilding engines (both forced and naturally aspirated) and I’m learning more each day about working with diesel engines. I also have some experience in general maintenance and boat upkeep, electrical wiring, soldering, and plumbing.
• Interests: Photography, travelling, reading, music, karaoke, skydiving, and surfing.
