Hello my name is Douglas and I am a experienced sailor from Ireland. With over 1800 nautical miles of experience aboard 6 different yacht ranging is size from 32ft monohulls up to 51ft trimarans. Excluding my own 14ft dinghy which is were I taught myself to sail.
I am looking for crewing opportunity aboard any sailing vessel. Whether it aboard a tall ship or a glorified dinghy as long as it has a story to tell.
Location doesn't concern we much as long as I can get there affordable. Would prefer longer offshore trips to build more experience as I has mainly done coastal cruising so far. With my longest passages being 4 days along the coast of Spain.

I also intend on doing my day skipper over the following months to get more qualifications. I am a qualified scuba diver, search and recovery diver already and have worked as a pool lifeguard. So lots of water experience.
I am also very practical and hands on. Being a woodworking and a general maker for the last 8 year's. With some more recent mechanical knowledge too from fixing motorcycle and other small engines.
I am a college student in Ireland and have just completed my second year of college studying mechanical engineering. This is why I am only free in the summer.

Douglas and I sailed the south west coast of Ireland two handed for a few days. I found him very easy going, a good helm, and good company. In addition he clearly doesn't get sea sick easily :). A reliable crew that I have no hesitation recommending.
