Looking for a Voluntary work, Competent Crew or Friendship position
Good day!
As I have been based on land for the last months for my studies, I am looking to set sail/help out between the months July and August 2022.
A bit over a year ago I was first introduced to sailing and the live aboard life and got the chance to sail from Hervey Bay to Darwin over 8 months (and over 3000 nm) on S.V. Isabella, a beautiful 65 foot steel ketch.
Next to exploring the Great Barrier Reef scuba diving, freediving, spearfishing and fishing, my main duties were helping out on deck and cooking for the crew (around 7 people). During this trip we also did several night sails and crossed the cape Capricorn with doing watches.
Last June 2021, we reconnected with Josh (the captain of S.V. Isabella) again and helped him sail the boat down from Broome to Exmouth. This trip took us about a month (over 500 nm) with a stop at the Wessels islands, where did a few longer stretches with night sails.
