I am willing to help out with chores/ boat work in order to learn learn more sailing skills.
Hello, I am a good student and want to learn.
I don't have a lot of sailing experience other than learning dinghy sailing in the Thames estuary as a young lad. And sailing around the canals and lakes of Friesland, in the north of the Netherlands.
However, I worked as a Diesel engine/ Compressor, and air gun mechanic on commercial Seismic vessels. With 140 days on the North Atlantic in winter, 83 days in the Arctic and 55 days off California, I experienced all kinds of weather. I never got sea sick.
In 2001 I became a Scuba Diving Instructor and spent several years working on Live-aboard boats in Thailand. So lots of at sea experience.
I successfully directed a Man Overboard Recovery in Hong Kong harbour at night whilst on a Junk Tour boat with 30 passengers on board (and 2 in the water!)
I'm hoping to sail the South Pacific primarily, but also other ares as a crew member. I enjoy repairing, fixing and improving things, I can cook quite well and know how to stay awake when needed.
I can converse well or be quiet.
Please contact me through email initially, then we could do Whats App.
Thank you. Phil.
