Looking for a crew position to build on my sailing experience and continue to enjoy the cruising lifestyle.
I was born in Sydney and have lived most of my life in Bondi i am a keen surfer and have traveled around the world extensively over the years.Have spent most of my working life in hospitality starting in big hotels and more recently managing hotel bars.
Confident swimmer, rarely/unlikely seasick, good communicator, travel light (little luggage), eager to learn & work, fit & healthy, friendly, positive outlook, trustworthy, easy going, sense of humour, can pay own expenses, enjoy cooking, don't mind cleaning, Can follow orders.
Most of my on board boat experience has been aboard surfing charter boats in Indonesia. x 5 in total.I have recently sailed up the east coast from Sydney to Whitsunday's starting in July 2020 on 45 foot hunter and would like to extend my sailing adventure.
My motivation and reasons to crew on a boat
Have a holiday, visit remote places, seek adventure, fulfil a dream, face challenges, gain experience, learn to sail, live off the grid, travel.Gaining the skills to skipper my own boat in the future.
On my Sydney Whitsunday trip I have gained experience in navigation journey planing and reading whether forecasting while being part of a happy hard working crew. I would love to build on that experience with the long term goal of owning and captaining my own boat.
I have also sailed from Cairns to Darwin on Kia Ora a 45 foot Beneteau as part of 2 man crew in May 2020 which involved multiple night sails as well as a couple of multiple day legs.
Recently completed Certificate 1 .General Purpose Hand Near Coastal.Jan 2022.
And have current first aid certificate.
