Cruising the Med on a private catamaran until mid August 2024.
Day skipper’s RYA completed , STCW and ENG1 up to date. I have discovered this dream of sailing in 2019 in Panama and since then I’m spending most of my time on seas. I have crossed Atlantic 3 times and the Med twice in 4 years.
My experience and abilities:
open sea, Atlantic ocean, deliveries, cruising, private and charter’s boats.
Monitor the ships position, using charts and other navigational aides,
Anchoring, single night watchkeeping, trimming, dock assistance, determine the speed and direction of the vessel, deck/interior maintenance
Plus: yoga & fitness, healthy lifestyle, food and dietetic knowledge, paddle and scuba diving - Padi open water.
I have crossed from Cape Verde to Caribbean in 2020, 19 days on the ocean and arrived in Antigua I’ve started to work as a Chef/steward/deckhand on private yachts. After 2 years I’ve crossed back to Portugal, making part of ARC regatta on a trimaran getting the first place of the regatta:))
I’m a very easy going person, very flexible and good sense of humor. Keeping clear mind on stressful situation. Pro active and fully committed.
Besides all my experience on boats, Atlantic cross, Panamá canal’s cross have achieved over 14.000NM in 3 and half years as well as I have loads of experience on traveling and contacting with different cultures and I do speak English, Spanish, French, Italian and of course portuguese...
I can cook delicious healthy food based on veggies and fish (meat also) and love preparing gourmet dishes :)) I’m very much multi tasking, very well organized and cleanliness too ;) Anything your boat needs to be fixed (carpentry, plumbing, sewing, fixing and some electrics) I have handy skills if you provide me the right tools :))
I also want to learn more and more, specially about mechanics, Diesel engines, solar panels and everything on a boat, as I want to become a captain one day :))
I have a vast experience on different sailing boats which opens my understanding about sailing. Have completed STCW95 and ENG1 valid until 2027.
I wish we can have a chat and see how plans for sailing can match :))

Sailing from Algarve to Madeira
Mafalda is a very nice open minded girl with a lot of traveling experience and is traveling with light luggage and took care on my boat. She sailed with me about 2weeks on my 10m Bruce Roberts along the Algarve and crossed with me from Portimão to Porto Santo and then to Madeira. She did night watches and handelt the sails on my boat. She is also a very good vegetarian and seafood cook. I liked also to explore the islands with her and I enjoyed her company. I would always sail again with her and hope to do so somewhen.
