Captain / Engineer - Mate / Engineer
A bit of my story! I joined my first motor yacht when I was 18 as a day worker, for a period of 15 days, and ended up doing the whole season on 2015 as a deckhand and after 10 months I was promoted to 1st mate. The captain made the effort to teach me and guide me through all aspects onboard, from deck caulking to docking a 40m yacht without a bow thruster. Did a delivery of a 20m Riva with him, and ended up being the skipper until it was sold.
I left the boat to do some scuba diving licenses and became an instructor. After that, Sea Shepherd (marine conservation NGO), offered me to join one of their boats in Australia and was promoted from deckhand to 4th engineer after 15 days. Three months later they relocated me as 1st Officer/Manager on a 30m USCG Coast Guard in USA patrolling all over Baja California for illegal fishing activities.
I went back home (Palma) and I did some daywork on a motor yacht where I ended up doing the whole season as Mate /Engineer, being part of a very interesting mothership and shadow vessel program, very active on watersports and guest interaction. Did the whole season, including the winterization and systems of all systems onboard.
I am known to be loyal, switched on and a good troubleshooter. Very good with logistics and accomplishing objectives on tight schedules. I have strong mechanical and maintenance skills. My friends say I have a good sense of humor too.
My hobbies are to surf, kitesurf and scuba diving, which I also teach for fun. When it comes to land, I spend a lot of time climbing and restoring classic cars.
I am looking for a captain - engineer, or mate position on a sailing yacht, or something interesting with possibilty to step up in the future. .
