Experience to gain RYA Day/Coastal Skipper practical. Longer, overnight trips Channel Islands, northern France/Spain
I am hoping to seek sea hours to assist in pre-qualification mileage ahead of taking RYA Day/Coastal Skipper practical. Ambition to cross Biscay to Northern Spain (achieved May 2023!), possible Atlantic crossing – ARC?

Over the past 35 – 40 years!! Extensive dinghy sailing – GP14, Fireball, Enterprise, Laser, Lark
Practical (May 1989) - Competent Crew (included crossing channel from Southampton to Cherbourg and Alderney, via Isle of Wight). Crossing from Alderney back to Isle of Wight was quite rough. Second half of crossing Isle of Wight to Cherbourg done at night.
Theory – Day Skipper (April 2005), Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore (March 2006)
Unfortunately, over past 20 years work/family mean my practical experience has been very sporadic, so I am still very much a novice at many areas.
Background and circumstances
Age now means I can’t get around a dinghy quite so nimbly, so more leisurely sailing on a yacht would be more welcome!
I live in West Cornwall but am willing to travel a reasonable distance to meet up for a longer passage, if necessary. I am a reasonably competent family cook and love experiencing new cuisines.
Goals
I am hoping to improve my seamanship, sea safety knowledge and passage planning required for advancement.
During 2019 I was able to undertake a reasonable amount of paper based and electronic passage planning and comparison of actual versus planned.
