Captain / Engineer
In 2019 I embarked on a new career as a professional yachtsman. After many years in a white-collar corporate job, it was an easy decision to pursue my passion for life at sea; by that time I had already sailed some 30,000 NM over 20 years of prior recreational charter and delivery work where I gained broad experience on a variety of yacht types and sailed many oceans. Also posses a vast knowledge of machinery which has been augmented in the last four years working as a professional yachtie. My ideal position would be a long-term commitment to a 23m-28m yacht.
I possess exceptional situational awareness and confidence in yacht operations. I am skilled at close quarters maneuvering, have an essential understanding of vessel systems, and enjoy working with owners and guests. Experienced in project management including yard periods, working with contractors, budget planning and financial reporting. I am a strong leader skilled at training and motivating crew to foster their growth and loyalty, and to ensure safety with all onboard operations.
As an avid athlete most of my life I am conscious of healthy living and continue to maintain an active lifestyle which keeps me energetic, stress free, and living life with a positive attitude.
