Experienced Swede looking for crew opportunities.
I am a 57-year-old Swede who has been sailing my whole life, both racing and long-term cruising. I am a mechanical engineer, have a merchant marine degree, and am currently working as a land-based manager at a shipping company 6 months each year (Swedish summer). I am looking for a yacht to crew from the beginning of October 2024 to the end of March 2025, preferably in the Caribbean or the Pacific but open to other suggestions. Here are some highlights of my experience:
One-design sailor at World and European championship levels (most recently the J70 Europeans in 2021).
Charter skipper in Greece and Croatia (approximately 30 weeks total since 2010).
Long-term sailing as crew: 2015, 6 months Scandinavia - Caribbean with Atlantic crossing.
Long-term sailing as crew: 2023-2024, 10 months Scandinavia - Greece.
Owned a company from 2007 to 2016, RIB-charter in Lake Vänern, approximately 2500 nm of high-speed driving each summer.
I am looking for an easy-going, competent skipper with a well-equipped yacht, and I have no problem covering my own costs for food, fuel, and so forth. As a person, I am flexible and easy-going but also appreciate some structure and order onboard (not 100% focus on partying). No allergies or food requirements.
