Experienced sailing Instructor and skipper.
I have crewed on, skippered, and instructed on sailing yachts for many of years. Charter, delivery, private, and school boats. Sailing the Baltic, East and Southern UK, Bay of Biscay, North Atlantic, throughout the Mediterranean, Indonisia, Malaysia, Thailand, the throughout the Caribbean and the East coast of USA. I’ve covered more than 45000nm at sea.
I’m currently working as a freelance Yachtmaster Instructor in the Solent, previously a sailing instructor in Gibraltar and the Canaries. Previously employment as a skipper aboard a private yacht. A yacht I joined at the beginning of Nov 2017, in the Canary Islands. Sailed across the Atlantic, up through the Caribbean and Bahamas, then on up the East coast of the US to RI. We then sailed back down to Grenada. I then spent 4 months based in the Solent as an RYA Cruising instructor, and 4 months as a RYA Cruising instructor in Gibraltar, before re joining as a private skipper in Grenada. We had plans to sail to New Zealand, got a far as Panama, then Covid 19 broke out!
I hold RYA Yachtmaster Ocean, I am a RYA Yachtmaster Instructor, Powerboat Instructor, Shore based navigation instructor, and SRC VFH instructor/examiner. I hold full STCW10 commercial endorsement.
More importantly I’m a very patience, relaxed, approachable person. I have a good sense of humour, kind natured, hard working, clean and tidy. I do take safety at sea very seriously though.
