Looking for a Novice Crew Transatlantic
Hello,
We are 2 French travelers in search of adventure, left at the beginning of October to hitchhike around the world, with the desire to be as close as possible to the people, and to learn more about the culture of the countries we visit.
It is with this same intention that we sleep at the locals', by knocking directly on their door, or with the help of Couchsurfing.
We also alternate with a few nights in a tent, (big fans of bivouac/trekking) so we are used to living with the minimum, and without too much comfort.
Zac is 25 years old, originally from French Guiana and a nature lover. He is a special educator, and worked for 2 years with young people in social and educational difficulties. Accustomed to hitchhiking for years, he was also able to make a few crossings of several weeks on foot (crossing France and Switzerland by hitchhiking and crossing Iceland and the GR10 on foot). He is patient, very curious, and already familiar with the terrestrial environment, he has an overwhelming desire to learn about the nautical environment, which he has already practiced as a passenger (sailboat, catamaran).
And I am Orlane, 24 years old and recently graduated with a master's degree in territorial management and local development. I have always been driven by the desire to learn and broaden my areas of expertise, which is why I started very young to do small jobs then many internships, a civic service and my 2 years of master's in alternation. My father having a nautical and river license, I often had the opportunity to sail for a day, and also to discover several water sports. I am resourceful and I know how to adapt very easily to my environment and the situations I encounter.
We start with a tour of a few European countries, and we wish to cross the Atlantic by boat to continue our journey in South America.
We are flexible on the departure dates and place, as well as the arrival place.
We do not have any experience as a skipper yet, but we are motivated to learn and be as useful as possible.
However, we are both good cooks and very comfortable with social relationships. If you are traveling as a family, we are also comfortable with children and teenagers (Zac through his work, and me following many babysitting jobs).
Our English is improvable, but understandable.
