I hope this introduction finds you well. I am currently seeking a long-term or short-term Deckhand/Cook position abroad on a sailing yacht or superyacht. My goal is to apply my experience and skills while also learning new ones, progressing my career, and advancing within the yachting industry. I hold full marine qualifications and possess the necessary travel documents to work on boats as a crew member.
I have worked on a variety of boats of different sizes and types, primarily in the exterior department, where I have maintained high standards in boat maintenance. I have also assisted with basic interior duties such as laundry, housekeeping, interior detailing, flower arranging, and food and beverage service.
Below are some of the core skills and experience I possess:
Complete washdown of the entire boat above the waterline using surface-appropriate soaps, brushes, and sponges
Boat maneuvering operations such as anchoring, mooring, deck line handling, and refueling
Inventory upkeep
Tender boat operations
Greasing machinery
Sanding and painting
Varnishing
Engine room cleaning and detailing
Metal cleaning and protective application
Bilge cleaning
Ongoing mold and mildew treatment
Teak scrubbing and cleaning
Cleaning hatches, gutters, tracks, drawers, tackle stations, lockers, and fish boxes
I am confident in my experience and personality, and I am eager to get back afloat to further my knowledge of boat systems, electrics, engines, and more. I enjoy participating in maintenance and “handy” work and am flexible in handling challenging tasks, viewing each as an opportunity to learn. In addition to my Deckhand/Cook experience, I have extensive knowledge and experience in the shore catering industry, including the ability to cook breakfast and dinner, serve meals and drinks, and maintain a strong attention to detail.
I have also participated in several film shoots with Fafifi Media100 as a sound technician. On a personal level, I have a loyal and committed attitude, take pride in my work, and am able to think independently and creatively. My flexible personality allows me to work effectively in both small and large team environments. I prioritize cleanliness and hygiene and strive to maintain a well-organized lifestyle.
