DAY SAIL AROUND HAURAKI GULF

I have a Whiting 26 keel boat based at Bucklands Beach in Auckland. I work full time so can only sail at weekends & holidays. I am looking for up to 5 crew for day sails or up to 2 crew for overnight weekend sails around the islands of Auckland NZ. You don't need any experience but I encourage crew to get involved in sailing the boat. You might even learn something along the way! You will find a fairly chilled out atmosphere on board without discounting safety. We normally leave at 9.00am & return by 5.00pm. THIS IS NOT A PAID POSITION.

Ian is very knowledgeable skipper and helpful teacher, I believe I can say so as It was first time sailing experience for me and I felt like I learned a lot.

Great way to "learn the ropes"

Ian was extremely helpful and patient with me and other crew members who did not have much sailing experience. He explained technically what to do while giving insight into the theory as to why it needs to be done. I am grateful to have learned a lot about sailing during my day trip with him. During our trip we went to a little bay and had lunch. Good conversation the whole trip and Ian knows a lot of history on the local area which was really interesting to learn about. Thanks again Ian!
