SVPR.CLUB Stop looking at your phone - time offline, learn hard skills, go sailing.
My story is, I founded the Panta Rhei Boat Club (SVPR) because I had an urge to do something against people staring on their phones the whole day - a kind of digital detox, if you want to see it this way.
In my professional life, I manage recreational- and marketing projects for companies with sports, health and outdoor products. I felt an urgent need to oppose the narcissistic, empty side effects of the digital culture nowadays.
A place in a remote, unique setting surrounded by water. Technology reduced. A place where hard skills, communication and social interaction is required felt like the best solution.
Nature is not just a place to visit on the weekends or to use as a background for an instagram shot. It's where we live. Most important where we are connecting, bonding and create real community. Time offline.
The solution is founding this kind of club. People who appreciate time offline can participate actively in sailing, learn some new hard skills and how to apply the learnings in every day life.
Simply said, I want to find the right people, bring them together and get some support for the project. That's it.
So, if you fancy to join for a day, learn some skills, be prepared to hand in your phone for the time being ;-)
