Capt. & Stew couple - Temporary / Seasonal - Min exp 6 years - €10000 - Spain
Privately owned Lagoon 77 sailing catamaran is looking for an experienced, calm and mature captain & stew/cook couple.
The captain role:
- Vessel safety & navigation
- Deck operations
- Mechanical maintenance
- Hands-on exterior cleaning
- Passage planning
- Administration with ports/marinas, authorities & shipyards
The ideal candidate would be an experienced sailor with 5+ years world cruising experience; extensive training and seafaring knowledge, plus demonstrated longevity within previous roles. Technical proficiency and troubleshooting experience are also very important; competency and comfort with technology is a must.
The stew/cook role:
- Interior cleaning
- Laundry
- Healthy cooking (Ottolenghi style preferred) and at ease preparing -pescatarian/vegetarian dishes
- Provisioning + restocking
- Assisting with exterior cleaning
The ideal candidate would have sailing experience and knowledge of lines + fenders; can-do attitude, an all-rounder happy to work in all areas.
The yacht & programme:
- Location: Canary Islands
- Yacht: 100% electric propulsion and dual 45 KW generators
- Cruising plans: Canary Islands for the upcoming few months, then North Atlantic Ocean, “Off the Beaten Track” itinerary
- Usage: Private only with a large dog onboard - occasional guests
Contract:
- 3 month contract with the possibility of future rotation for the right candidates
- Flights & travel expenses to and from vessel
