Tall ship sailing in Cape Verde

Come to discover Cape Verde's nautical (and pirate) history on a trip visiting the leeward islands and its beautiful bays!

Our fleet is based since many years in West Africa and we are working on improving the boats and creating a permanent crew of ocean nomads.

We will study history, sail, enjoy and discover pristine bays and beaches far away from the usual sailing (and tourist) destinations. Also we will sail on our traditional topsail schooner in the way of the old times.

Cost is to be covered by the crew but can be reduced when helping with maintenance, repairs etc

Please come with an open mind - a tall ship is not an up-scaled version of a yacht!

This makes sailing with the Jacob Meindert a spectacular experience and gives a dynamic feel to the ship. We are based in Cape Verde Islands and presently transferring the ship from Europe, The interior is cosy and comfortable. The dayroom is spacious with nice lounge couches and tables and offers enough room to relax. The galley is well equipped and guarantees a good share of healthy meals.
