Maintenance and on board works teaching ; recommissioning and deliverytrip- boats maintenance under supervision

Good morning.

MARCH & APRIL 2025 ONLY

For persons wanted to be involved into boats maintenance and systems upgrading I am offering an unpaid voluntary works position.
We make minor repairs and maintain the boat all along the winter on the following topics :
- carpentry and joinery
- diesel engines maintenance (3 in total)
- hydraulics
- sails and ropes, all modern rigging techniques
- works planning and organisation
- basic epoxy and polyester works
- Electric and electronic systems modifications and testing

Work schedule base is 5 days a week, monday to Friday, 09am to 5pm.
No special required skills needed, but you have to be used to operate some basic tools, like electromechanic tools and basic ones (hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches).

I am maintening sailing boats for 40+ years, and have professional experience of big maintenance & refit planning of commercial and military ships.
April will be focused on recommisionning the boat before the season and a short delivery trip from Asturias to Galicia.

In addition, we will make sailing tests(new sails and equipments.
I can also deliver navigation courses/lessons, including celestial.

Boat is in a lovely city, North coast of Spain, Asturias province.
Private cabin accommodations, all expenses on board covered.

Aviles to Azores

Joined Stephane for a passage from Aviles to the Azores, which I used as my Ocean qualifying passage. I was made very welcome on board his very well maintained and comfortable boat from the start. Stephane runs a very happy and relaxed boat and goes out his way to make sure that you are well looked after and well fed on passage. Stephane has a wealth of maritime knowledge which I certainly benefited from both by observation and discussion. I would not hesitate to recommend sailing with Stephane and I’m contemplating doing so again if he does ventures into the high latitudes.

I stayed with Stephane for about a month in 2018. He welcomed me onto his boat and treated me like family. Working with him was a genuine pleasure, and his passion for sailing and the sea is contagious. I would highly recommend a trip with him and the Grynning to any person wishing to get out on the water.
