Looking to build more sailing experience
Hello there! I'm a novice sailor in Oregon. I'm looking to get more experience, make new sailing friends, and get more hours underway. While I have a lot more to learn, I'm hopeful to find some opportunities to crew for others. I'm easy to get along with, and I'm happy to help you sail your boat how you want it sailed.
I've taken a few sailing courses, clocking about 120 active crew miles so far on some mid-20-ft sloops. I've also recently acquired a 12-ft dinghy, which is getting me out on the water a lot more.
So far, my sailing experience has been on the Columbia River and Fern Ridge Lake. This year, I'm expanding that to several more lakes and the Willamette river. I've sailed on the ocean three separate day trips (twice on a 42-ft schooner and once on a 60-ft schooner), but as a passenger, not crew. I've also had a few multi-day trips of coastal and deep-sea fishing in my youth.
Additional training includes amateur radio licensing for UHF and VHF, and multiple first aid courses.
