Looking to race, get nautical miles, teach sailing and meet likeminded people!
Hi, my name is Tomás, I am a Portuguese Aerospace Engineer working for a high-performance marine engineering company based in Valencia, Spain as a CFD Engineer. I have been a sailor all my life and the wind and the ocean are my occupation, both personally and professionally.
I raced Optis from a very young age, moved on to 420s and stopped competitive sailing due to Uni. I started windsurfing in my free time, got my skipper license and recently, before moving to Spain, I started working as crew/skipper at a sailing school in Lisbon, Portugal. I also got back to racing as 2nd trimmer, having done several races for the Portuguese ORC championship.
I am now based in Valencia and looking for opportunities to get out on the water, meet likeminded people and explore this amazing coast. I would also enjoy some racing in the process! :)
I have a lot of experience with dinghy sailing (13 years), hours on the water working as crew for tourist sightseeing in Lisbon and some hours of inshore ORC racing.
I recently crossed the Med in a Bavaria 40 with 2 friends from Split, Croatia passing in Messina, Italy, up to Cagliari, Sardegna. Can't wait to watch the sunrise and sunset about again!
