Deckhand Available from October
I'm Diego Gil, latino living many years abroad. I'm currently employed by Marbella Charters in Puerto Banus, Malaga. As a skipper on daily charters, I have extensive knowledge of day to day deck maintanance such as washing down, teak scrubbing and detailing. The primary task is to cruise around Costa del Sol while maintaining passenger safety and organizing stops for various activities on a MY Absolute 39 with two engines.
In the Bahamas, I worked as a solo deckhand on a private vessel, 87 feet in the Exumas region. Overseeing all tasks in the engine room, on deck, while operating tenders, supervising watersports, and guaranteeing the security. I stepped up to first mate at times when the owner/captain left the vessel.
I work diligently, with enthusiasm, and with a constant goal of completing the task to the best of my abilities. I am pursuing a Captain (PPER) degree in Spain while holding a Coastal Skipper license (PY). I'm eager to learn more about the field and dedicated to developing to the best of my abilities in order to advance to more senior positions within it. I am willing to pursue a Yacht Master RYA education if its a requirement.
As a watersports instructor, I have traveled the world, mostly teaching kitesurfing, cruising on the red sea with tenders, and teaching in waters from Thailand to the Caribbean. I've been a skipper for three years now, handleling several kinds of boats from semirigid boats at 20 feet to MY 87 feet.
