Offshore and long term cruising, friendship, deliveries and taking care of your vessel as AEC1&2 engineer. Sailed 31k+Nm
I'm an IT Security Professional, with lifelong passion for the sea, in Nov 2022 I've shifted my IT career over to long term leisure cruising, deliveries and taking care of the vessels - in a friendly spirit!
[In Sept 2024 I "accidentally" bought my own 46ft yacht that is ready to sail the world] :o) Next season (May 2025) I'm spending around French Polynesia - 2 double cabins are available for people- just get to Fiji / Tonga / Tahiti and have enough resources to buy own food and customs fees if we change the regions. You can also participate in the cost for the dinghy that provides transport to the shore - that's it!
Sailors are special king of people! I've been sailing onboard of vessels that belongs to "someone else" for 513+ days of my life - this includes old and sometimes grumpy folks that are willing to scarify quality of their life by limiting resources and being paranoid of battery levels because USB chargers consumes 0.1A/h AS WELL AS yacht owners that run their GenSets to power Kilo Wats for AirCon and maintaining nice temperature of their Jacuzzi that consumes 150L per session. Both was equally respectful for the nature, environment and local people. Both were sailing around this beautiful planet.
On "Mecanica" there is sweet point of both worlds (however I'm not old and grumpy :P) - its everything about enjoying your life while being aware and respectful of available resources and environment. I'ts about exploring places that are beyond access of regular tourists wearing flip flops. Its about heaving bond fire with other cruisers or dinner with local people. It's about climbing the highest peaks of the island to see coral reef from 2000 meters above sea level and do a bit of exercise. No matter where but with whom. You don't have to be a sailor, weather router, mechanic to join "Mecanica" - Just get yourself on board, relax and enjoy. It's everything about feeling to be alive.

Life Is Too Short To Spend Most Of It At A ‘Day Job’ - so I quit my stable IT job:
Since some time I have been preparing my economical and small passive income sources like my own IT security company to close doors of my flat and go sailing for 3-6-12-∞ months. I'm open for any type of sailing and boat maintenance opportunities. I would love to learn from more experienced skippers and crews.
"McGyver" on board - with MCA AEC1 AEC2 certification:
I have some hands on experience maintaining outboard, diesel engines and electric, electronic, RF radio systems on the yacht as well hull maintenance. I feel comfortable with designing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting of electrical equipment like solar panels, charging controllers, gensets, inverters, power banks and battery management systems. I can manage refit projects of reasonable size and "mañana" like (difficult) providers. My rule of thumb is to leave yacht in better condition regardless if its charter, delivery or private yacht.
My passion towards sailing started as a teenager while sailing on the big Polish lakes - mainly on the the small ~23-27ft sailing yachts. Since 1998 I hold my Inland Skipper. Since 2011 I hold ISSA Offshore Skipper "certificate" (50GT, 100NM from shore, sailing yachts up to 24m) and in April 2022 I hold skipper license (issued by Polish Yacht Association, unlimited miles from the shore but yachts up to 18m/60ft) - Fully recognized by insurance companies e.g. for Atlantic and Pacific crossing (I did my crossing in December 2022 on FP59 and November 2023 on Lagoon 46 and Pacific crossing in April 2024).
I took STCW Basic Security training and I have valid ENG1 equivalent cert.
I have logged 31k+ NM which is good starting point to learn more.
Experienced skipper, watch leader with great boat-technical knowledge
Met Bartek on a ~2 week delivery. His experience in passage making, skippering and watch leading capability shines through. Just as his interest and understanding of yacht mechanics and marine systems. He does not shy away from a challenge and strive to understand everything about the vessel he's on. On top of all that, he's also easy going, friendly and fun to spend time with at sea. Looking forward to future passages with him.
