Looking for a Novice Crew position
Kia Ora, Hola and Hello! We are Tess and Bambú, a couple from New Zealand and the Canary Islands. We are hoping to join as crew for the Atlantic crossing this season in December or January. We are brand new to sailing but we are also quick and eager learners with experience living on a boat.
We met on board the Amara Zee: a 95ft theatre-ship, where Tess was performing vertical dance and Bambú was a show Technician. We lived on that bizarre and beautiful boat for 6 months, sharing work and life with 20 people, while we toured the Salish Sea. Along with our roles in the show, we were also crew and had duties on board such as keeping the log, checking our course, docking, keeping watch, cleaning the hull etc.
Tess is a circus artist and Bambu is a musician. We both speak English and Spanish and are hard working, considerate people. We enjoy surfing, board games, cooking and good conversations over dinner with friends. We each have a lot of experience travelling and living/working in close quarters with people, whether on tour with the circus or volunteering on various projects. We are not strangers to cramped living conditions or hard work! At the moment we are volunteering at an artist retreat space in Turkey, before heading to the Canary Islands in early December.
Please get in touch if you might be looking for considerate, helpful, entertaining people to cross the Atlantic with!
