Crew member with practical sailing experience and mechanical skills
I'm interested in finding a position as a Deckhand, Competent Crew or Delivery Crew.
No experience as commercial crew, but I’ve sailing experience on yachts, have done extended passages and am a regular dinghy racer/ cruiser.
I’ve some experience in sports massage, and experience in watersports teaching (SUP, surf, sailing and rock climbing), and generally feel very at home in the outdoors and on the water.
I’ve spent many years in hospitality when younger, several years teaching surf, and many years in my own business doing construction work and building repairs.
I’ve almost worked commercially on yachts several times, but various obstacles in my personal life have prevented it, with me choosing to hobby sail instead.
I’m hoping to change this, and learn under a commercial skipper who enjoys sharing. I thrive best when being stretched and challenged and love to learn all the technical aspects to a thing.
If you speak to my friends they will tell you cooking comes naturally to me and my food is great, I’m happy to assist, but I’ve no desire to have a lead role in food unless on smaller vessels, without fancy dining.
