Experienced sailor seeking sailing opportunity in winter 2024
Hi everyone! I love exploring the world on a sail boat and am looking for sailing opportunities with open minded, friendly people. I started sailing when I was 15, did my German licenses when I was 16 and 18 and I have been sailing on all kinds of boats since then. I've worked as a sailing instructor during school and uni holidays, done a couple of yacht transfers, sailed on the tall ship Alexander von Humboldt and ended up racing mid size and small boats (505 class) in the Berlin and Baltic sea region. I have done several trips (15+) as a watch keeper and also participated in a three weeks yacht race on the Baltic sea (the Baltic Sprint Cup) in 2009. I have done a one-week skipper training in Elba in 2016. I don’t get seasick unless in very bad weather and never for long.
I am a lawyer living in Cologne, but since I'm my own boss, I am pretty flexible in terms of time-off and I can also work from almost anywhere provided I have good internet connection. I like cooking and I'm a social person with positive energy.
I you‘re a guy looking for female company who cooks and cleans for you, I am not the right person ;)
Sailing the Caribean islands
Maxi joined me on Journeyman for another sail in the West Indies. She stayed for 3 weeks and was a great addition to the crew that was already on the boat. Maxi is an experienced sailor with very well developed skills all around the boat. She is hands on in all situations and knows what it means to act together as a team. The more the boat leans over and speeds through the water the better it is for her enjoyment. We had great laughs in our discussions and did some nice hikes and outings besides the sailing. Pleasant and smiling, she was up for all of it. With persons like her the cruises are easier to handle and a learning experience for all. Thanks Maxi, hope to see you again on Journeyman.
