- Looking for Captain / First Mate / Manager position - RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate
I am writing to express my interest in a Captain/First Mate position for an expedition, private, or charter vessel. My name is Paula Trolliet, and I am an experienced sailor and dedicated professional with a diverse background that spans from sailing tourists in the Mediterranean to supporting scientific expeditions in Antarctica.
As an Argentinian citizen who has lived in Europe for over 12 years, I have cultivated a deep passion for sailing and exploration. For the past few years, I have been living and sailing on my 31ft boat, navigating between Europe and South America. Most recently, I have served as First Mate on Antarctic expeditions, where I honed my skills in challenging environments.
My experience includes skippering boats in Greece during the Mediterranean season, where I developed strong leadership and navigation skills. In 2024, I took on the role of coordinating the building of a 77ft Pelagic at KM Yachth builders in the Netherlands, which not only deepened my project management abilities but also provided me with valuable engineering knowledge.
I hold an RYA Yachtmaster Offshore license with commercial endorsement, STCW certification, and ENG 1. Additionally, I am fluent in Spanish, English, and Italian and am currently learning French. I have also started training in the underwater realm and have obtained my PADI Advanced Open Water certification.
Throughout my yachting career, I have embraced the challenges presented by some of the most demanding waters in the world, including Cape Town, Cape Horn, and Antarctica. I pride myself on my strong leadership skills, always striving to foster a positive and collaborative working environment. I thrive in busy and stressful situations, driven by my passion for what I do and my eagerness to learn from those around me.
