Ready to Explore the World Under Sail
Currently, I am writing this from the saloon of the tall ship, Alvei, anchored off Luganville, on the island of Santo, in Vanuatu.
I have raced for five years, as crew, on Midwestern lakes in the United States. Now, I write this from the saloon of the tall ship, Alvei, in Luganville, on the island of Santo, in Vanuatu, an archipelago nation between Fiji and New Caledonia.
I am able to sail as crew, and desire any new knowledge I can receive from truly experienced captains.
As a racer, I learned how trust my skipper. What I need is more helm time and sea miles so as to become a competent skipper in my own right.
At this phase of my life, I'd like to move toward that dream, even if it's by working on someone else's boat. I am clean and organized, attentive, and hardworking. As for conversation, I am a political progressive, but respect others' values to a reasonable point. I won't preach if others around me don't. I love to play backgammon and scrabble, learn new knots and splices and deeply enjoy experiencing people from other cultures. Eventually, I'd like to own my own boat, and captain it, so I'd like to sail with someone who will teach me everything he/she knows. Let's travel.
