I have a passion for this wild world from the mountains to the sea
HELLOOOO!
My experience has branched out to many facets that include recreational sailing, operating small boat, docking and anchoring twin screws up to 86’, seafloor survey, monitoring of wildlife, whale ID photography, protected species observing, hatchery work, marine debris clean up, commercial fishing and hunting industries, work onboard research and natural history vessels, in tourism as a guide and as crew for major haul out projects. I have been an Alaska resident for 20 years and has a passion for the wilderness on land at on the ocean. I LOVE just boating around and exploring, whether it be in a 12' open skiff in the freezing wind and hail in full rain gear or sailing onboard a 41' Beneteau in less then a bathing suit.
I am very professional and laid back and also a very hard worker and very strong for a girl, I am told. I am able to work long hours for many days with random sleeping patterns. I am a great cook and am not the picky eater, although I usually try to eat relatively healthy. I love fish and seafood of course, meat, fruits and veggies. I prefer wild caught fish, hunted game and harvesting when I can but I know thats not always an option when packing supplies from certain ports. I will be just as happy eating out of cans if thats what we've got! I don't mind bathing in the ocean either. Real fresh water showers and flushing toilets are always nice thought, haha. I am very clean and tidy...ship shape as they say.
I have a lot of managerial experience in the service industry as well. Everything from fine dining food service to bar tending, cocktail waitressing, catering, housekeeping and flower arranging.
I have basic knot tying skills and can tie down and seaworthy boats. I've climbed to the top of masts while harnessed and been instructed how to assist in many projects. I have assisted with huge haul out projects replacing engines and wood work, sanding, painting, grinding inside and outside, fiberglassing, cleaning, replacing fuel tanks, cleaning water tanks--I'm 5'5" and relatively small so I get sent into small places : )
I also love music and I love to sing. I play a little guitar also and love live music and dancing!
I have an infectious positive attitude and am a team player!
