Captain - Yachtmaster Offshore - Instructor - Very experienced seafarer looking to start new career
Hi, I'm Lee. I'm currently a Training delivery manager and trainer/instructor for the RNLI which my duties in these roles vary.
I’m Yachmaster Offshore Commercially Endorsed with extensive maritime experience from different sectors over 20 years.
I hold a ENG1 - Full complement of STCW10 certificates as of October 2021.
I'm currently interested in work in the charter/delivery or private skipper sector. I'm looking to skipper vessels abroad in the med or in the UK. I have never worked in the superyacht industry but I am eager to start my journey to develop these skills, whether that's as a deck hand, bosun or captain. I’m prepared to put in the hard work and graft to succeed in this industry.
Previously a Fulltime Coxswain in the RNLI. My main duties are to ensure the vessel is ready for sea at a moments notice. While at sea, the crews welfare and vessels safety are my upmost priority whilst having overall responsibility for the lifeboat. I have excellent boat handling skills which I’ve developed over my years at sea manoeuvring vessels.
Training and developing people are a passion of mine. I enjoy being part of my crews development to mould them into hard working, respectable and trustworthy people, that uphold the exemplarily attention to detail I endeavour to maintain.
My role in the RNLI consisted of training crews in seamanship, STCW95 Sea Survival, fire fighting, right through to yachtmaster theory and practical. I delivered boat handling and bridge team management courses regularly to develop new commanders in leadership and human element skills.
I have impeccable handling of different propulsion systems including jet drives.
As a time served marine mechanic, I have built a good understanding of petrol/Diesel engines, varying from inboards to outboards and auxiliary systems.
I am confident at making decisions and managing people. Leading by example is one of my core values, whilst having a positive outlook and a calm, professional management style.
I am passionate about the up-keeping of vessels, and my reputation of this is impeccable.
