Looking for a Novice Crew position
Hi, I’m Tim, a 28-year-old from Germany. I've always loved being on and near the water, mostly while fishing, but over the past few years, I’ve gotten more and more into sailing. I’ve done smaller trips around the IJsselmeer, spent a week sailing around Croatia, and occasionally enjoy some dinghy sailing on a nearby lake. Every time I’m on a sailboat, I absolutely love it—the calmness, the thrill when the weather suddenly changes, the long, steady stretches on a single course, and the slow, deliberate pace of life on board. I also really appreciate the way sailing lets you experience distances in a tangible, relatable way. After working as an industrial engineer for two years, I decided to take some time off to travel with my girlfriend Pia. Since she’s also into sailing, we thought it would be great to spend at least part of our travels on a sailboat crossing the Atlantic. As you can tell, I’m not the most experienced sailor, but I have a solid grasp of the basics and can assist with all the essential sailing tasks. I’m also quite handy and able to help with repairs and maintenance. Having grown up in my father’s carpentry workshop and spent a lot of time working on my camper van, as well as studying mechanical engineering, I’m comfortable solving practical issues on board. I’m used to living in tight spaces, am organized and tidy, and know how to handle other people’s property with care and respect—thanks to over 10 years of experience living in shared apartments. Additionally, I’m a responsible person who cares about and respects others. I have a Certificate in First Aid on Board (Hopefully never need the skills). Lastly, I’m a calm, balanced person who’s open minded, enjoys good talks and nice food.
