Ex Radar/electrical technician Looking for a Novice Crew, Voluntary work or Electrical Engineer position
Hi all, after having quite an interesting career I now am free to sail and no longer bound to any master :). I'm used to living/working with many nationalties and it would be great to be with a crew going somewhere and contributing, I have Day Skipper and also Power boat 1 and 2, I spent a lot of time driving power boats around Masirah island taking people snorkelling/diving but have not had enough sailing experiance apart from crewing on the Dubai Muscat yacht race once and also Portsmouth to France for a week on a racing yacht with the RAF.
So i am looking to increase my sailing/boating experience and likely take my RYA yachtmaster in the future. I am a systems engineer so am good with electrics and also pretty handy with mechanical engineering. I have spent most of my career as a radar technician working for the military or government maritime agencies and have spent the last 15 years working as a specialist /SME in the field and also training engineers the art of troubleshooting and fault finding/reporting mostly with radar and optical coastal systems including IAS and VHF etc.
