Learn to sail/holiday in Lagos, Algarve, Portugal.
Hi all potential crew,
I'm based in Lagos Portugal with Questina II. A Trident Warrior 35ft blue water sea-going vessel.
I have a fb group, purely related to the sailing we do called, Questina II.

I'm still offering my skills as a Sailing Instructor, as the previous advert title was 'Learn to sail on holiday'
Therefore, with myself acquiring the RYA instructor certificate in 2022, I'm well placed to invite people along for a week's relaxation or pre-competent crew or pre day skipper.
With courses in the affiliated schools being around £1000 each, it can sometimes feel a little daunting, and people stay away from doing those courses.
What I will offer is the aft cabin for 40€ each as a contribution towards the passage or days sailing. The cabin can sleep two people, so ideally, this would be great for a couple, I won't put two strangers in there together.
We will go through the points of sail, sail trim, reefing, heaving too, common knots, MoB, and coming alongside with obviously exiting a pontoon.
That then should give you the confidence to go for the qualification and set you on a new world of adventure, chartering, or buying your own boat.
Thank you for looking at this advert.

p.s. thank you all that joined me for the summer trip to Maderia and the Caneries.
Interesting journey
I joined Dave in Tenerife, Spain and sailed to Madeira and then Madeira to Rabat, Morocco. Dave is a colorful and affable man with a funny Yorkshire sense of humor. Both passages were in rough seas and strong winds [12-15' seas and 40-knot winds.] I am a novice sailor and learned a lot from Dave. It's often that your greatest learning happens when things go not as planed or expected and that was the case on both passages. He is a very knowledgable skipper and shares his sailing experiences readily. Questina is an older boat and was having several significant issues requiring repairs at both ports which limited our sailing time, but allowed for myself and 2-other crew to explore Madeira and Morocco. I think she needs quite a bit of work for blue water sailing in the future, but perhaps coastal hoping is more appropriate at this time. I would choose another boat until many needed repairs are made.
