From London to Spain / Portugal

nt57: Hello good people!

Sometime in July or early August I'll take my yacht from London, head along the UK south coast, hop across the Channel, and then either straight across the Bay of Biscay, or take a slower route following the French and Spanish coasts (depending on time mostly, but probably I'll go straight across Biscay).

My aim is to get to Portugal later this year, probably hang around there for a while with some trips to Gibraltar, Spain etc, and then next year... Well, see what happens.

I've lived and worked in many different countries as a scuba instructor, and my plan is to keep that life style going. I love exploring new places, meeting all sorts of people, and just seeing what's out there. I now work remotely, so I can sail pretty much freely.

I'm looking for crew with a similar mindset: adventurous, fun, and interested in seeing the world. Your sailing experience is less important than your willingness to learn, get involved in the tasks onboard, and get your hands dirty.

We'll share any costs onboard - food, moorings, fuel etc., although I plan to keep things as cheap as possible!

So send over a message if you'd like to join me on any or all of the trip.

Classicsailor: Hi everybody
Easy going openminded sailor a bit shy looking for company on a dream trip
very safety consious but not a planner so no set ports or destinations but sail where the wind gets me, satnav wil be used along side clasic navigation
Wish list is south America exploring the amazon river for a time, go around cape horn to the pacific if possible.
Looking to travel without a carbon footprint, no engine use if possible, and running on vegetable oil if available.
Looking to get a stress free life sailing and meeting new people and cultures, looking for the unexpected.

For now finding the rhythm of the ocean, getting lost under a starry sky, lead by the wind, waves and stars to my unknown destination, I've had enough of the so called civilised world with in happy people, this civilization I do not need
My yacht is a 50. Year old wooden sloop not luxurious but one off the best long dinstance sailing vessels i know equiped for single handed sailing. The perfect crew is a spiritual guided person who's looking for spiritual fulfilled life and be one with all life
I'm open never able to a just to "normal" life always a bit out of the box, really quit detailed plsnning it never works and is disappointing, I will start my trip from Holland tru the English channel not even planning tides and currents just go at first light and see when I put in for the night.
As soon as I hit the Atlantic the wind will guide me, zo anything is possible, but it will be a trip outside the paved "normal" routes of course I need a port at some point, but the main purpose is to find inner tranquillity and peace a new life.

No experience needed learning on the water

Sailing Croatia - Caribbean 2018

Crew wanted: Friendship/Relationship

Destination: No specific country (Caribbean)

Gregory74: Hi, I would like to fulfill my long-cherished dream in spring/summer 2018 and go on a longterm trip. Croatia - Greece - Gibraltar - Cape Verde - Caribbean and perhaps the South Pacific and beyond (everything remains open).

I'm looking for a nice, open minded, german- or english spoken girl, who likes to be with me and have a hand for the boat for a part or the whole trip.

Sailing experience is not essential and I will be happy to teach you.
Hop on hop off is possible (almost) at any time.

Owned my "Taloa" for 10 years, a save 10m yacht of BrucerRoberts equipped for long-haul and single-handed with 3 cabins for approx. 4 persons.

If you like to discover foreign countries, sailing, hiking, snorkeling, swimming, enjoy Sundowner, get on with the close on board and have enough time-out then you are right.

Testsailing is possible and welcome.

Sail from Turkey to Portugal

Crew wanted: Competent Crew
Vessel: Sailing Boat
Size:11 m
Location: Turkey
Destination: Portugal
Logged in: 52 minutes ago

Yoram: Looking for competent crew to accompany me going west through the med. Starting in South turkey coast, then Greece, Sicily, Sardinia, baleric islands, main land Spain, Gibraltar, Portugal by October.

I'm looking for competent crew with experience. Responsible, aware, knowledgeable, curious, people whose main motivation is love of sailing, like to share their knowledge and experience and explore new grounds. Crew I can learn from will be the best choice. Male, female. Preferably active people with high energy levels, with good nature and respects the other. Someone who can also hold a camera and produce a usable video shot/image would be the best

The boat is a classic British sailboat of a very solid build and was very well maintained by its previous owners for 25 years and by myself since I got it. It has all that a safe and comfortable sail might require. With an aft and fore cabins, each with its own head, one hot water shower, fully equipped galley and comfortable berths in the cabins, saloon and pilot area, a safe and comfortable center cockpit (long benches!), this boat is truly the best for my plan and will make its crew love it.

Boat expenses such as fuel, oil, berthing, entry/exit fees, food, drinks etc are to be shared equally. Crew travel expenses, passport fees and personal expenses are on the crew.

I sail with an open mind, love people, can appreciate their and my privacy when needed and respect the needs and requirements of others. I eat healthy, simple and tasty food of local produce. I do web and content development off of my laptop for a living. I prefer anchoring in quite and protected spots, nature-rich places, and would avoid marinas and busy, noisy, touristic places when possible. Safety is very important, as well as the upkeep of the boat and its ongoing care from the micro to the macro. As crew you are expected to participate in all work done on the boat. We see all people on the boat as equal in terms of sharing responsibilities and everything else.
Crew is expected to participate in the ongoing maintenance and improvements of the boat ( there's always some great project going), and in shifts while under way.
I hope you'll find my requirements, sail plan, boat and idea of sailing appealing so we can enjoy sailing and learning together.

CaptErik: Hi,
My crew and I have recently crossed the Atlantic and plan to sail Portugal, Spain and Morocco for the next few months before returning to the Caribbean.
SV Viking is a community (similar to a backpacking hostel) where diverse people visit, sail, some work (like helping with maintenance, cooking and cleaning) and enjoy each other’s company and culture.  There are no paid positions; Capt Erik Smitt handles the cost for the boat and maintenance; all crew share in the cost of food, fuel and fees encountered on the adventure.  SV Viking is a low cost operation with an open schedule based upon captain and crew’s shared interests.
If this is of interest, please write back.
Regards, Erik
